We have been wondering why and how water can change from a liquid to a solid to a gas. 

We want to understand why the changes is called a physical change?

We want to know... how a scientist can identify water?  

Some students put their understanding in a poem.

We need to:

The beginning of our experiment means; a topic sentence to begin an explanation.
We record what we see and what we know.

Next we add a supporting sentence using language related to the topic.

Then we add more supporting sentences explaining what is happening.  

Finally add an interesting conclusion.
